Sunday September 19:
Departure for Milan Malpensa Italy!

Monday September 20:
Arrival to Malpensa, immediate departure for Varenna, a tiny jewel on Lake Como. Afternoon to rest at your hotel, Hotel Oliviedo, dinner served at the hotel. (www.oliviedo.it)

Tuesday September 21:
Morning on own to wander Varenna, afternoon boat to Bellagio with optional dinner there this evening, or you may return to the hotel where dinner is included.

Wednesday September 22:
Optional cooking class near Varenna! Lunch served at the cooking class, dinner served at the hotel this evening.

Thursday September 23:
Departure for Lake Garda traveling via charming Lago Iseo where You will enjoy a short boat ride. Lunch in Franciacorte at one of The area’s best restaurants, L’Albererta Ristorante Gualtiero Marchesi. Late afternoon arrival to your home for the next 4 nights: Hotel Spiaggia D’Oro, in darling Salo on Lake Garda.

September 24:
Full day’s wine education with lunch. Your visits will include a taste of Amarone along with other local wines: Valpolicella and Bardolino., evening on your own.

Saturday September 25:
Full day excursion to the wonderful city of Verona, home to one of the most magnificent remaining coliseum’s in Italy, and the famous Romeo and Juliet balcony. Evening on your own.

Sunday September 26:
Off to the hills early this morning to meet a local cheese maker and then enjoy a cooking class featuring typical local ingredients. Evening on your own.

Monday September 27:
On to another region and new wine adventures! A short visit to the charming village of Bassano del Grappa followed by lunch at a Prosecco wine producer. Late afternoon arrival to your hotel the Agriturismo Le Favole (to be confirmed), dinner at the hotel this evening. (www.lefavole.it)

Tuesday September 28:
San Daniele and the prosciutto traditions await you today! You will visit a local producer and then enjoy lunch with local wines and the best prosciutto you have ever tasted! Late afternoon return to Le Favole.

Wednesday September 29:
Today we will schedule two wine tastings and enjoy lunch en-route. The goal will be to be introduced to big wines from small wineries and hopefully taste new grape varieties as we explore the wines of this region.

Thursday September 30:
Off to Cortina D’Ampezzo, one of Italy’s best loved resorts in the Dolomite Mountains. These mountains are without a doubt some of the most dramatic and beautiful that I have seen! A taste of delicious mountain food and wine and time to enjoy the village. Late afternoon return to Le Favole, dinner served at our hotel this evening.

Friday October 1:
Back to Lombardy this morning, destination beautiful Lake Orta! Stop en-route for lunch on your own and then tour of the village upon arrival. Gala dinner and overnight at the Hotel San Rocco. (www.hotelsanrocco.it)

Saturday October 2:
Departure from the Venice airport for home.

Your trip amenities will include the following:

**3 nights on Lake Como, 4 nights on Lake Garda, 4 nights Friuli on a farm/agriturismo and 1 night in a lovely 4 star hotel on Lake Orta.

**8 lunches (two as part of your cooking class) and 5 dinners (3 included at the Hotel Oliviedo in Varenna)
**Bus transfers from Milan Malpensa Airport to Varenna, and from the 23 September through your airport drop off in Milan on October 2, 2010 (please note that bussing services from arrival until departure from Varenna are not included. We will use boat transportation during this time period)
**1 cooking classes, Lake Garda
**3 wine tastings
**Walking tours in Verona, Bassano del Grappa, San Daniele area, and San Giulio D’Orta.
**Bilingual escort to accompany your group from September 22-October 2, 2010

The price per person based on double occupancy and 14 fully paying participants and an exchange rate of Euro 1.00=Dollar 1.5 is $3,870.00 per person. An additional cost for tips for the bus driver, walking tour guides, and meals would be an additional $125.00 per person.

**We reserve the right to alter the itinerary prior to departure per new information that we find. We also reserve the right to adjust the price of the tour per the current exchange rate at the time of departure.

To confirm participation in this tour, please send an initial deposit of $650.00 per person and the following registration form to Italian Horizons, 112 N Maple Street, Bellaire Michigan 49615 by not later than January 10, 2010. The balance will be due 10 July, 2010. Please note that to make use of the transportation provided, you must arrive Milan Malpensa Airport by not later than 9:00am on September 20th, and your departure from Milan Malpensa on October 2nd in the late morning.

Your cancelation penalties are as follows:
From time of deposit-10 March: $300.00 non refundable
From 10 March – 10 July: $550.00 non refundable
From 10 July: Full amount of tour is
non refundable
